International Symposium on Medical Epigenetics 2024

Welcome to the 3rd Medical Epigenetics Symposium in Freiburg, Germany

The Collaborative Research Centre 992 “Medical Epigenetics” is a research consortium in Freiburg, Germany, that conducts epigenetic research with a translational focus. Teams from the University and the University Medical Center, as well as from the Max Planck Institute of Immunobiology and Epigenetics are collaborating in projects ranging from basic research to clinical evaluation of novel therapeutic concepts.

The symposium is free of charge, however, registration is required. Early-career scientists are especially encouraged to submit an abstract for the poster session.

There are 28 invited speakers, a keynote lecture and several talks selected from submitted abstracts.

The conference will start on Monday, March 18th at 14:30 and close on Wednesday, March 20th at 17:30.

From Freiburg central station (Hauptbahnhof) it is a short walk to the conference venue. Turn left at the main exit of the train station and follow “Bismarckallee” which after the traffic lights is named “Stefan-Meier-Strasse” for about 400 meters. On your right at the corner “Stefan-Meier-Strasse / Albertstrasse” you will find the “Otto-Krayer-Haus”. The entrance is in Albertstrasse 25.

Freiburg is on the ICE / IC route Frankfurt – Karlsruhe – Freiburg – Basel
From Freiburg central station (Hauptbahnhof) it is only a short walk to the conference venue. Airport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg (EuroAirport) – EAP / BSL is the closest airport (about 60 km).
Freiburg can be reached directly by the Airport Bus or by train, changing at Basel. Travel time is about 1 hour.

Frankfurt Airport is about 270 km away from Freiburg.
There are direct train connections from Frankfurt airport to Freiburg in about 2 hours.

By Car

Follow directions to the city centre (Hauptbahnhof) of Freiburg. Please note that there is no free parking available around the conference venue. We advise you to park your vehicle at any of the parking facilities (Zone: Bahnhof P1-P6) close to the conference site.
